Take a trot to Trafalgar Square and tantalise your tastebuds with this thoroughbred masterpiece from Оchre

This modern British restaurant saddles the Eastern wing of the National Gallery making it a splendid place to dismount after exploring the vast collection on display.

Here, bar manger Silvia and her team have curated a bespoke menu of cocktails to feast one's eyes on, each of which is inspired by a different artist and their famous works.

And this canny Broken Clock composition pays homage to Georgian-era painter George Stubbs and perhaps his most celebrated artwork; Whistlejacket.

The somewhat sizeable oil painting depicts a handsome horse towering on its hind legs - giving the beholder a piercing stare - and it was commissioned by the stallion's wealthy owner who chose Stubbs for his uncanny ability to capture the steed with breathtakingly realistic brushwork.

George actually perfected these life-like skills through the rather stomach-turning practice of stringing up horse carcasses, injecting their veins with wax and spending weeks cutting their rotting carcasses open to examine their muscular forms.

Luckily the only thing one needs to dissect at Ochre is their extensive menu of mouth watering seasonal dishes and this tangy tipple - which takes our awfully english vodka and combines it with clarified melon juice, honey and coconut matcha - is certain to get your palate galloping with joy.
